Welcome to my slightly late November newsletter. You’ll forgive me this once, won’t you? After all, it was Halloween only a few days ago, and here in Moon Hill things get a little crazy around this time of year. In fact, I even retold the recent “Knot House” incident for a horror anthology called Campfire Macabre: Volume Two.
I had a great time over Halloween weekend, soaking in the spooky vibes, watching horror movies, and listening to some haunted house sounds on vinyl. On Saturday I had a table at White Dragon Comics for the Halloween Fest celebration, which was a lot of fun. We sold a bunch of books, gave away free comics, and raffled off some of the novel merch too. Oh, and of course there was free candy!
After the event I wrangled my brother and we set twin lines of fire behind the car tires on our way out to meet the Keislings for a Halloween dinner. We arrived at the diner an hour before they closed, so we changed course for another establishment that served semi-edible versions of familiar foods. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, and I guess you could argue that’s what I received, regardless of the freezer burn still present on the preformed patty.
Questionable food aside, we had a great time with Todd and Erica, debating the many ways in which we might implement a yearlong Halloween mandate and how summoning particular elder gods may or may not facilitate such purposes.1
On Sunday I preoccupied myself with Halloween preparations like baking a pumpkin pie, carving Jack-o’-lanterns, and decorating the sacrificial altar. I had to teach some classes on Halloween, but I made up for it by cramming as much good food and horror into the final hours as I could. It was a sight to behold. There are pictures.2
It’s here I’d usually shift into writing news, stats, updates, and other important information, but I still have the ol’ Halloween hangover, so let’s make this easy:
My new novel, Tommy and the Order of Cosmic Champions, has only been out for two weeks, and I could use your help spreading the word. There’s a hardcover, ebook, and audiobook, not to mention tons of awesome merch.
I’d love it if you’d check it out, tell your friends about it, and maybe even buy a copy.

We decided to table the discussion until such time as one or both of us had sufficient power to make good on our promises.
